The Dangers of DIY Pressure Washing

Blast Away Dirt with Pressure Washing Services

It seems that pressure washers are everywhere these days. You can find them in nearly every hardware shop or big box store. Just because they’re widely available, that doesn’t mean that everybody should use them on their home or property. There are real dangers associated with pressure washing. Our experienced team of power spraying professionals at Springtime Enterprises LLC will address some of them here.

The most common mistake is applying too much pressure. Using full power on the jets will cause a spray that’s more destructive than useful. With excessive power, you can notch, etch, and otherwise damage the surface you’re spraying. Ideally, you will start with a wide fan spray pattern and keep the nozzle moving to avoid putting too much pressure on one area.

Using only water in the sprayer when pressure washing will not result in a clean surface. It may remove some contaminants, but it won’t clean the item. The best way to avoid this is to use a properly mixed cleaning solution. Read your manual for tips on finding the correct ratio for your cleaner.

Be aware of your surroundings when spraying. In that way, you won’t inadvertently blast something, or someone, that shouldn’t be sprayed. Mind electrical hazards and outlets and ensure your washer is connected correctly at all times.
